Park City Dance Academy
Being a member of Academy, on any level, will help dancers develop their technical dancing skills through a well rounded curriculum of dance education. In addition, emphasis will be placed on important life skills of responsibility, self-discipline, dependability, good sportsmanship, friendship and teamwork.
It is a privilege to be a member of academy. All Academy dancers MUST set the example for the entire studio. Academy dancers are expected to fully adhere to all rules and guidelines, AT ALL TIMES.
All dancers will be required to meet the performance and behavior expectations. If at any time, a dancer fails to meet these requirements, they will be given a written or verbal reminder. After 2 reminders, the dancer will lose the performance privilege
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
COMMITMENT:
The overall success of the Academy is in large part based on the commitment level of each individual dancer.Academy is a one-year commitment. This commitment will require a great deal of time and energy. However, this investment will reap tremendous awards! Parents and dancers must be willing to make a firm commitment to the Academy by attending all classes, performances, rehearsals, competitions and workshops. If a dancer must miss class for ANY reason they must call the dance office and let us know. Classes missed MUST be made up within the month. If a dancer fails to attend scheduled classes and rehearsals they may be spaced out of a performance number.
ATTITUDE AND DISCIPLINE:
Discipline and a positive attitude are essential elements for any successful program. Dancers and parents must demonstrate a positive attitude towards the program, teachers (including substitutes), and other dancers. Please remember that you represent Park City Dance not only in the studio, but also in the community. If a problem should arise PLEASE make an appointment with Sandy or Trish for immediate resolution.Remember the Thumper Rule. “If you can’t say something nice… don’t say anything at all.”
GROOMING:
Proper grooming is essential to our professional image. This is important not only in class, but also at performances. Dancers are expected to wear correct class outfits and shoes for every class. Remember, no boxers or T-shirts! Dancers must always have hair away from face. This can be achieved with a bun or French braid. NO EXCUSES! Dancers who are not dressed correctly may not be able to participate in class.
TRAVEL:
There may be occasional opportunities to travel (aside from competitions). These trips are always optional, although we highly encourage dancers to participate. Traveling is a tremendous opportunity to grow as a group and as an individual. Travel trips will be determined by the directors and announced to the Academy when all the details are finalized.
INFORMATION:
Calendars and notes are given each month to inform dancers of exactly what is happening in the Academy. It is the DANCERS responsibility to stay informed! If you have a question…ASK! If you get a calendar and it seems confusing…CALL! Dancers MUST be responsible for information that is about THEM!
FEES/TUITION:
There are fees associated with competition. There will be a DUE DATE for these fees. Dancers must submit fees by the due date. If fees are not received by the due date, dancers WILL NOT COMPETE.
